The Time of Year

Time is a funny thing. Some find themselves ahead of it, others find themselves behind it. We’re always trying to shape it to our needs. But it doesn’t bend. We haven’t found a way to fold it or tear it to fit…us.

We blink and years have passed, we blink again and time has seemingly stopped. Despite the movies, the books, and comic books, time marches forward. Take time during the holiday season to realize that The One who actually controls time is moving and shaping it to ultimately fulfill His plan.

Mary surely didn’t want to go into labor in Bethlehem of all places. But, as a part of God’s plan AND timing, it had to be that insignificant town. That time and place not chosen by Mary or Joseph, but the perfect timing of God. Humbly, lowly, and timely a savior was born.

Luke 2:6-7 – While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.
