Christmas and baking are hand in glove, and to bake all the holiday goodies, we use a recipe (most of the time). Fact is, the proper use of a cookbook or recipe should be used in it’s entirety. That is, start from the beginning.
One recipe alone won’t transform into a finished product. Neither will half of the ingredients make the perfect pie. It takes the whole recipe, from ingredients to mixing instructions and baking, chilling, or whatever the takes to finish.
likewise, the Christmas story is a part, an ingredient in a recipe that started “In the beginning”. It’s easy to piece apart stories and lessons. But it takes the whole recipe, the whole bible to see the big picture of God’s plan. Remember to reflect on the totality of scripture and how while each part is special, the total is absolutely spectacular!
John 1:1-4, 14 – In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men.
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.
