Star of Wonder

Star of Wonder

Light shining through cut glass, beveled glass, even simple glass can add a brilliance that seems magical. What we see as amazing in man-made objects makes me wonder how much greater would the sight of a specially-made, God-created star be? Created for the purpose of guiding kings to, if not announcing to the world, the arrival of the Christ.

Take time to look up. See the stars of creation. On December 21, there are two planets coming together to form a “Christmas star”. It amazes me how it takes two planets to make something close enough to be likened to the star of Bethlehem. But I somehow believe the star over Jesus was so spectacular, royalty had to leave their thrones, their kingdoms to behold the Christ that was foretold.

Matthew 2:1-2 – After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem and asked, “Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.”
